This project has been underway since 2020. I am now working from my home studio after acquiring a plasma cutter, flux core welder, English wheel, and other basic tools. I've also cut a few pieces with Firstbuild Co-Create (a fantastic new resource with more "techy" options), but primarily do everything myself, by hand.

In a time of climate and environmental refugee crises, I would like to create a monument to milkweed and to monarch butterflies, important ecological contributors and well-known annual migrants. The sculpture serves as a metaphorical welcome to immigrants, butterfly or human.
